Overview of CNIC SIM Verification
Under the direction of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), all telecom operators in Pakistan—including Jazz, Zong, Telenor, Ufone, and Warid—maintain a central database linked with NADRA. This system guarantees that no mobile SIM card can be activated without biometric fingerprint authentication.
Step-by-Step CNIC SIM Check Methods
Method 1: SMS to 668 (Cellular SMS Method)
This is the fastest method to audit your SIM count directly from your mobile device:
- Open the SMS messaging app on your phone.
- Type your 13-digit CNIC number cleanly (e.g.
3520212345671) without hyphens or spaces. - Send the message to
668. - You will receive an automated reply showing the number of active SIMs for each network.
Method 2: Web Inquiry via cnic.sims.pk
To check your registered SIM quota online for free from a computer or mobile browser:
- Go to
https://cnic.sims.pk. - Enter your 13-digit CNIC number in the designated box.
- Check the “I'm not a robot” security box.
- Click Submit.

Allowed SIM Quota Limits in Pakistan
PTA regulations restrict the maximum number of SIM cards an individual can hold to prevent illegal commercial distribution:
- Voice SIM Cards: Maximum 5 active voice SIMs per CNIC.
- Data / Broadband SIMs: Maximum 3 active broadband SIMs per CNIC.

What to Do If You Find Fraudulent SIMs
If the 668 system displays SIM cards registered under your CNIC that you never purchased, visit the nearest customer service center of that mobile network with your original CNIC to request immediate biometric cancellation.
